TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (KSTU) — Disturbing new details have surfaced about an attack and sexual assault on the Salt Lake Community College Campus in Taylorsville. Prosecutors have officially filed five felony charges against 33-year old Timothy Wyatt for the April 7 incident. It turns out he’d allegedly been lurking on campus at night, posting notes in women’s lockers that demanded sex. On Friday, SLCC released surveillance photos that showed Wyatt in the Lifetime Activities Center the night before police said he attacked and sexually assaulted a woman. “It was noticed that he had been there when the facility was closed, and was moving around,” said Salt Lake County District Attorney Sim Gill. A New York man faces charges of grand theft and possession of stolen property after over 100 stolen iPhones were found inside his backpack at the Coachella music festival, police say. Reinaldo De Jesus Henao, 36, was caught over the weekend in California as festival-goers discovered their devices missing and used the “Find My iPhone” feature to locate them, leading straight to the site of the suspect. “A bunch of people activated their ‘find my phone’ and pointed at, ‘Hey, it’s that guy, my phone, my dot, it’s moving with that guy,’” Indio police Sgt. Dan Marshall revealed in a statement. Marshall said it’s of no surprise the incident happened at the widely-celebrated event, which expected anywhere between 90,000 and…

NEW YORK (Reuters) – The former delicatessen worker convicted of killing 6-year-old Etan Patz is due to be sentenced on Tuesday, nearly 40 years after the boy’s disappearance in New York City helped raise national awareness about the plight of abducted children. Pedro Hernandez, 56, faces a maximum sentence of 25 years to life in prison for murder and kidnapping before Justice Maxwell Wiley in Manhattan state court after a jury found him guilty in February. Patz vanished as he walked alone for the first time to a school bus stop in Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood on May 25, 1979. He would become one of the first missing children to appear on the side of a milk carton seeking information. For…

Coachella man caught stealing over 100…

Coachella might be a Snapchatter’s paradise, but it’s also, apparently, a phone thief’s paradise. Thirty-six-year-old Reinaldo De Jesus Henao was arrested at the festival on Sunday with more than 100 stolen smartphones in his backpack, KMIR News reports. As Consequence of Sound points out, the Indio Police Department said that a group of users were able to locate Henao on the festival grounds by using Find My iPhone. This is not the first time the tracking feature has successfully led iPhone users to their stolen property, and police departments have pointed out that using the feature like a crime vigilante isn’t the best idea. In this instance, festivalgoers seemed to have worked in conjunction with the police department. KMIR reports…

The revelers were partying at Wringer & Mangle, Sidworth Street, when an “unknown corrosive substance” believed to be acid was thrown early this morning. Roads were closed as emergency services, including a hazardous area response team, rushed to the scene.
